APPLICATION EXERCISES

Answer each situation clearly.

Situation 1: A chamber has a signature breakfast that has existed for 14 years. Attendance is slipping, sponsors are less excited, and the team mostly keeps doing it because “members expect it.”
Using Module 11 ideas, explain how the chamber should review whether to keep, redesign, or stop the event.
Situation 2: A chamber has a large gala, but staff track sponsors, seating, costs, and tasks in scattered emails and memory.
What systems from Appendix A should be created first to improve control and reduce confusion?
Situation 3: A chamber event requires many volunteers, but volunteers often arrive unsure what to do and end up underused.
What changes should the chamber make to improve volunteer experience and event support?
Situation 4: A chamber wants to elevate one of its events but has limited cash for major enhancements.
How can community partners and in-kind support help, and what should the chamber offer in return?
Situation 5: After a major event, the chamber celebrates success and moves on immediately, without surveying attendees or reviewing the event internally.
Why is that a missed opportunity, and what review process should be added?
